2014 TBR Pile Challenge

I've taken part in reading challenges in the past (I signed up for the Debut Author Challenge last year...and ended up tanking royally), but this year I wanted to do something different, something I've needed to do for far too long now:

Tackle my buckling-under-the-weight-of-books TBR shelf.

So, in addition to my annual Goodreads Reading Challenge, I've decided to sign myself up for the 2014 TBR Pile Reading Challenge over at Bookish. Participation in this challenge will require regular reviews, something that I should really be doing anyway, so that's a definite plus. At some point I'll post a list of the books I'm hoping to finally  read either in a post or under a tab, but for now I'm just excited to get going on it.

I will say I'm hoping to read at least one pre-2014 release a month, but I'm also hoping that number will keep climbing as I go.

Oh, and one of the best parts? It's open INTERNATIONALLY, so that means anyone within shipping range of the Book Depository can take part in the giveaways. For more information about the challenge, visit the 2014 TBR Pile Reading Challenge sign-up page.

Sounds like fun, right?

  1. I just found a whole heap of books in a basket from last summer, so this sounds like a great idea - I might have to join in too!

  2. Good luck! I'll be cheering you on from under my TBR-pile :)

  3. Oh this sounds fun. I have a whole shelf of TBR books, that make me feel so guilty! I might have to sign up.
    Good Luck!

  4. This sounds excellent--I just checked out their blog. I think I'll have to sign up too!!

  5. Definitely sounds like fun! I've got my To-Read pile pretty much under control (I think I have seven or eight books to read?), but I'll definitely be cheering you on throughout the year. Happy reading!

  6. Yeah, I didn't do the greatest on my Debut Author Challenge either. I think I read at least twelve books off my list (if I'm remembering correctly), but I definitely didn't review them all. Part of that was due to lack of time, and part was because I only review books I liked, and well, there were a few I just couldn't promote. This challenge sounds like a great way to get caught up. I think I'm going to avoid any formal challenges this year, but I'm going to attempt to read some books that have been sitting on my shelves for ages too.

I ♥ comments. They make me smile.☺
