Ready. Set. WRITE! (Week 9)

Just popping in briefly to say that I'm bowing out of Ready. Set. WRITE! today. Boo. I didn't end up even coming close to working on writing this week and still have tons to do before my trip. (Why does everything seem to conspire to make you way busier than normal before going away?) I'm disappointed that I didn't meet my goal for this week, but definitely more so that I didn't meet my overarching goal for the summer either--» to finish up a first draft of IN THE END, my YA contemporary. Partway into July, I started focusing all of my time and energy on my rewrite/revision of WATCH OF NIGHT (my YA sci-fi), which is actually a good thing, just not where I saw this summer going. Whatever the case, I'm really looking forward to tackling these two projects with much greater gusto when I return. The only goal(s) I'm setting for myself while I'm away is to continue brainstorming ideas for these WiPs and to jot them down as they come to me so I don't lose momentum. I'm taking notebooks for that very purpose!

With any luck, these little cuties will be full of great ideas!
